MicroModule Gear Technology

MicroModule Gear uses a significantly higher number of smaller gear teeth than standard precision-cut gears. The increased tooth count distributes load across more contact points simultaneously, which reduces vibration and gear noise while improving the smoothness of rotation under load. The practical difference is noticeable during sustained cranking on heavy lures and during the initial run of a large bass — the retrieve feels smooth rather than mechanical throughout the fight.

Reel Selection by Technique

Lower gear ratios (6.2:1) for deep-diving crankbaits and spinnerbaits where slower retrieves are required and the lure's resistance creates maximum drag on the gear train. High ratios (8.5:1+) for fast-presentation techniques like topwater, flipping, and single-blade spinnerbait fishing where quick line pickup after a cast is the priority.
